Q&A

You never leave home without…

…One of my Daniel Wellington men’s watches. I own a collection.

What inspires and influences your style?

Photos of my parents from their 20s. My mom was in the UK, paying her way through law school by modelling. My pops was living in Austria, he was the goalie of his soccer team and drove a Trans Am. They had incredible style.

What are 3 basics you must always have?

1. White T-Shirt 2. Black T-Shirt 3. Sunglasses.

How would you describe your personal style?

I love simple clothes and am drawn to a neutral palette. I love colours, but just don’t feel comfortable wearing them. I feel beautiful in white and confident in black, so I stick to that.

You always splurge on and you always save on…

I always splurge on basics. I have a dozen black t-shirts and half-a-dozen white ones I they probably cost me, combined, the same amount as the rest of my closet. I just love soft tee’s, it’s an unhealthy addiction. I always save on jewelry. Not because I buy cheap jewelry, but because I hardly buy jewellery. Most of my favorite pieces were gifts, passed down from family members or given to me by a loved one. I like accumulating pieces that are old, with stories, meaning, and value.

What is one thing your mother taught you that you always keep in mind when you are dressing?

Always wear a watch. And red lipstick = power.

Your closet is always stocked with…

Leather jackets, sunglasses, and black-t-shirts.

Your fashion motto is…

Comfort & Elegance. Keep in mind that when I go to a Hollywood Red Carpet, I’m usually working. So even though I need to look as dressed up as the celebs I’m interviewing, I’m also on location for about 8 hours longer than they are…wearing heels and a dress! The key to my style – and survival – is comfort!

You #1 style tip is…

Get a tailor, she will be your new best friend.

Helmut Lang Kinetic Modal/Jersy Blend T-Shirt
