It’s been 8 years since the world lost one of it’s most creative minds, Alexander McQueen. Yet, today, his name still carries cult icon status and a weight of creativity and inspiration. Now, McQueen, a feature length documentary, revisits the life of Lee Alexander McQueen, from an East End job to his rise as one of the most extraordinary visionaries the fashion industry has ever known.
The McQueen documentary premiered at the Tribeca Film Fest, April 22nd, and was a massive success. Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, the film captures the short, and often tortured life of the late British fashion designer. It shows McQueen’s work, personal life and legacy through interviews with close friends and family members, as well as never-before-seen archival footage, some shot by McQueen himself. Not only is the film a behind the scenes look at what was the inspiration for McQueen’s work, but also a behind the scenes look at intimate backstage moments we otherwise weren’t a part of, and shots from his most lengendary shows (Plato’s Atlantis, anyone?).
McQueen premieres in theatres July 20th, 2018.
