Style Butterfly

Style Butterfly

Written by The Strategy

Part of fashion and style and knowing how to go about both is knowing where you stand. Not for the reason of remaining a constant on one type of style, but rather for understanding what you like and dislike. Which helps create an identity and ends up making shopping a million times easier. Trends are more so for those who are still figuring out where they feel comfortable, while the ones who have a set style they are committed to rarely latch on.

So what happens to those of us who don’t have a set fashion identity? There has to be more than continuously searching for the next trend to keep us afloat. In an endless maze of style icons, inspiration books, and dos and don’ts, we get a little lost in the hype of it all. But in the midst of all the confusion, there is a chance at something beyond the ordinary.

Not having a set look means taking risks with different styles, getting to experiment with free range on what you can wear. It allows you to be a style butterfly, going wherever the wind takes you, and dressing well along the way.

Style butterflies are the far and few between people that set themselves apart by nature. They don’t have to dress in blouses and pumps to be taken seriously because they show some gusto and have confidence in their crazy.

Anna Dello Russo, style butterfly enthusiast, doesn’t wake up in the morning and think about what everyone else is going to wear. She thinks about what she is going to wear. Anna dresses in outfits that no one would even think of putting together, and she looks better than anyone else.

Wearing what you want and having confidence in it is a style all its own. Sure, you could stick to black trousers, black shirts, and black shoes forever, but you aren’t going to have much fun with it. Whereas with the feathers, jewels, cutouts, prints, etc that free spirits can play with, there’s no telling what can be done.

So take a chance! Be crazy, embrace your crazy, and love your crazy. It’s not called fashion because it to all looks the same. It’s meant to be different, to stand out. To be created and challenged. One of the best things about being free from a signature look is that you get to wait out all the bad trends, accumulating all the good ones along the way. If you haven’t found a taste that you want to settle down with, fear not. You’ll get there eventually. And with more flair than the rest of them.

If not, it’s more fun on your side anyway.
