With the September issues almost in our hands, we want to celebrate the anticipation by mentioning one of the best behind the scenes looks at the fashion industry we have: The September Issue.

Not only does The September Issue take us behind the scenes at Vogue, which is a place we would all die to be, it takes us there during the production of the most important issue of the year. The documentary shows the passion that is in the people that create the magazine that so many of us look forward to with an excitement that rivals Christmas. The photo shoots, the styling, the designers, the stress…we get to experience all of it. Which allows us to understand a little bit of what it would be like to work in that environment. 

As Anna Wintour picks apart designs and pieces together each component of the magazine, we get to see how much she actually cares about what she puts out to world through Vogue. It would be easier to throw something together without care, but the amount of detail she takes into consideration shows the dedication she has. As Grace Coddington takes us on shoots, her creativity is evident in the way she talks about her work. Though the relationship between Anna and Grace isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, it’s obvious that they respect one another and their dedication to Vogue. 

The September Issue shows everyone that there is real hard work that goes into the fashion industry. And it only shows one fragment of the overall industry! Each part of fashion requires as much hard work, passion, and talent as any other artistic career. 

As we’re flipping through our September issue, we’ll be a whole lot more appreciative of the people behind it. We are sure you will be too.
