Here at The Strategy, we love a good bit of nostalgia. Trends of all eras come out of the woodwork for fashion and beauty, the nineties trend being one of many. But one trend that we loved as kids more than any pair of denim overalls, was colouring books. There is nothing more amusing than going through old colouring books that you had a kid. Seeing how much you believed people should have green skin and how colours were meant for anywhere except in the lines is a true #tbt.
To inspire the same creativity and crazy imaginations that lead us to where we are now, we thought we would bring colouring books back into our lives. With a little twist.
Fashion and pop culture colouring books are the choice these days. With busy schedules and constant rushing around, sometimes settling down with a colouring book to relax your mind is just what you need. It’s a place to create some pretty little works of art and find some inspiration while you’re at it.
Take to that page of lobster shoes and make them your own, give Anna Wintour a makeover, and create a custom Louis Vuitton bag. It can all be yours at the stroke of a coloured pencil, or marker, or paintbrush…whatever you choose.
While colouring in Barbie’s outfits was all good fun back in day, now that we’re grown ups, bringing some colour to our favourite fashions and models is a little more up our alley. By way of Mel Elliott and her Colour Me Good books we can do just that and more. Not only can you take a turn colouring in Kate, Cara, and Miu Miu, you can also spend some quality time with your man crushes in the Colour Me Swoon edition.
If you liked colouring as much as we did, we promise you that these books are sure to rekindle the love. You can flex your creative muscles and fill in the pages to be as perfect or un-perfect as you desire.
