You can buy all the boyfriend jeans, button-ups and cashmere cardigans that you want, but the one wardrobe essential that we can never have enough of is the perfect fitting t-shirt. The one that hits your shoulders at the right height, falls perfectly over your sides and has the most flattering neckline.

Such shirts are a dream to have, but so difficult to find. Over years and years of trying and testing, we have narrowed down our absolute favourite tees.

We were first introduced to James Perse tees, that showed us a world of perfect t-shirts actually existed. Buying one wasn’t enough, so we had to have one in every colour, and we haven’t had one regret. Madewell makes the perfect summer go-to tee, that’s light, airy and easy to style – tucked it, rolled at the side or thrown over your favourite cut-offs. J.Crew, like always, makes a great basic. With a variety of colours and patterns, you’re bound to find one that fits your taste perfectly.

For a long time, T by Alexander Wang tee’s have been our daily uniform. They’re easy to dress up or down, are made of the softest jersey, and come in short sleeve, long sleeve, scoop neck and high neck. Lastly, The Row’s t-shirts are everything. They’re a bit of a splurge, but are definitely worth it. The loose-fit and soft jersey are basically all the we look for in a t-shirt. And, with the impeccable quality, you will have years to love this shirt.
