It’s safe to say that “patches” are definitely back this summer. After decorated denim was sent down many a runway (Saint Laurent, Anna Sui, Stella McCartney and DKNY, to name a few), it’s no surprise that street style shots of the trend are showing up on our Pinterest boards and Tumblr feeds.

And like the return of the Birkenstock and Adidas Slide, this trend is one that we can afford! If  Stella McCartney “Stella Superhero” jeans aren’t in your budget, may we point you in the direction of your local craft store, the back of your closet and an array of online sites, to fill your patch-work desires at a minimal cost.

Whether your adding them to your bag, à la Sue Williamson, your jacket or your jeans, patches add a touch of personalization to your look. An added bonus: they instantly update that denim jacket you’ve had since the 7th grade.
