Anti-Resolutions

Anti-Resolutions

Written by The Strategy

In lieu of the quickly approaching New Year, resolutions are on everyone’s mind. The annual To-Do list that, generally speaking, doesn’t survive past January. It’s daunting to keep a list around of things you have to do, accomplish, change, etc. This year, we’re taking the lessons learned from the past uncompleted To-Do lists and making anit-resolutions.

What is an anti-resolution, you ask?

It’s making the effort not to do certain things instead of promising to do them. We much prefer looking at all things we don’t need to do as opposed to all things we do. There’s probably some psychological explanation behind it that ties into either laziness or positive/negative thinking, but we’re not here for the science of it. We’re here for the feeling good about ourselves part of it.

Here’s our list of anti-resolutions that we’re going to try to stick to throughout the year.

This year, we will not…

1. Shop the impulse-buy bins at Sephora

2. Use as much heat on our hair

3. Buy clothes we don’t absolutely love

4. Misplace all of our lip balms

5. Make a beeline to the sale section

6. Lose all of our hair pins

There are many other anti-resolutions we’re sure will be added to the list as they come to mind, but for now, these are our goals. Or anti-goals.

Got any anti-resolutions of your own? Let us know, and we can all vow not to do things together.
