Date Night

Date Night

Written by The Strategy

So you’ve snagged yourself a date, have been staring at your wardrobe for hours in confusion, and are now asking the age old question, “What do I wear on a date?” It’s at times like these when we all turn to the great ocean of information that the internet is. This is where we come in.

Hi! Welcome.

While we can’t solve all your dating blunders (mainly because we share those blunders), we can offer some comfort in reminding you that deciding what to wear is not as complicated as it seems. All you need is a couple key pieces of information to set you on your way.

When and where. The most important pieces of information that you should have about the date, regardless. Even if you were going to show up wearing your house robe and slides, you should at least know when and where. Once you know these, you can start narrowing down your options.

If the date is at night, you can opt for something more formal. Flats are certainly not out of the equation, but blue jeans should be reserved for daytime dates. You probably have some go-to evening pieces that are tried and true, and there is nothing wrong with relying on an old friend to get you through the night. Spruce it up with accessories to make it different.

Speaking of daytime dates, just because the sun is out doesn’t mean you have to steer clear of dresses. This is 2016, anything goes.

As for the Where, this is where you need to really inject your personal style. Dinner calls for different attire than say, a museum tour or a coffee date. Take into account the amount walking that is expected, the level of formality of the location, and what you feel the best in.

As long as you don’t trend overload, and be sure to dress for the When and Where, you are in the clear.

See? Not so complicated.

Have fun!
