I must admit, if I have a weakness it is certainly unique shirts. Necklines intrigue me, hem lines, finishes, and sleeves intrigue me. Pants? I’m neutral. But tops? The more the merrier.
Naturally this lead to my admiration for the latest trendy step that sleeves have taken. Bell sleeves might not be for everyone, though they are definitely for me. Long or short, big or small, the bell sleeve is a chic little detail that takes the most simple top to a really great place. They walk the fine line that exists between a casual top and an evening top.
This look works particularly well on party dresses when you want to keep a certain level of casual to maintain that cool girl status. It also lets you pile on the bangles without getting the way of traditional fitted long sleeves. Pretty nifty!
We might not be able to squish bell sleeves under our coats in the best way just yet, which means waiting until winter bids us farewell. The difficult part about this snowy, frigid season is not the snow nor the frigid temperatures. The real pain comes in the form of all the Spring/Summer trends that out there while we’re still obligated to wear parkas and two pairs of socks.
See you in Springtime, bell sleeves. We’ll be waiting patiently.
