Skincare is a many splendored thing. There are serums, sprays, toners, oils, creams, et cetera, et cetera. Quite literally something for everyone and every problem they might encounter. In the midst of all those lotions and potions are even more opinions on what exactly is the “right” skincare regimen for you.
Do you need a serum? Do you need a night cream? Do you need micellar water? Who knows, but you bought them all anyway. We’re in the same overloaded boat.
Or at least we were.
Not to sound too preachy, but minimal really is best. Especially when it comes to something that can get as confusing and stressful as your skin.
You see, there is a point when skincare goes from thorough to way too much. One might like the process of an elaborate routine. We’re all for it. But what one does not need is four of each product because one cannot make up ones mind. One should stop purchasing so many skincare items (cough, cough—me.)
We’re looking at you, sample packets, half-used abandoned night creams, and spot treatment that didn’t work. Yes, the salesperson did a really good job at explaining the benefits and the promised results were hopeful. However, if you haven’t used it yet, have given up on it, or no longer enjoy it…it is time to move on.
Makeup hoarding can be forgiven, since there is a logic behind having a couple different shades of everything, but skincare? Unless you actually use every single one of those space hogs, toss them.
Do your skin and your mind the favour.
