Everyone knows April for it’s showers and it’s fools, but there is one more day (besides Earth Day) that deserves mentioning. That day is today, Nation Pet Day.

Our animal companions are always near and dear to our hearts, offering us comfort and solace from the crazy world that goes on around us— seeing past bad hair days, poor outfit choices, and the occasional meltdown.

Fashion has got quite the fair share of four-legged friends. Most of fashion’s pets have gained themselves a slice of their owner’s fame, sprouting Instagram accounts with loyal followers. Marc Jacobs’ dog Neville even inspired a slew of products which we know you’ve lusted after. Grace Coddington is a well-known Cat Lady, having sketched and perfumed her cats Bart and Pumpkin into hilarious, mischievous little characters. Charlotte Ronson’s Oliver is into yoga, snoozing, and looking adorable. While Karl Lagerfeld’s Choupette is busy becoming an icon of her accord.

All in all, we think pets are more than deserving of a day dedicated especially to them. Here’s to you, pets!
