Lindsay Wolf

Bio

Do you ever come across a person who just makes you think: “Damn. They’re so cool.”?  That’s exactly what happened to us when we first met Lindsay Wolf, the brand marketing genius at Anine Bing.  She has that enviable California-cool vibe and exudes warmth with her sunny personality. Not to mention, a killer sense of style that had to be featured on TS.

Q&A

How do you start your day off?

I wish I could say I meditate or practice yoga, but I’m not a morning person in the least. I squeeze out as much sleep as possible, walk my puppy, quickly check e-mail, make some rendition of a protein shake, and head out. I do take a good 10 minutes for my morning routine though – cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, SPF, under eye concealer, mascara – and I drink a full glass of water (often with lemon) during that process to start the day. On the weekends, I’ll blissfully stay in bed for hours or shoot for a (LATE!) morning yoga class or hike.

What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?

My boyfriend telling me “We’re gonna be late! Let’s go!” I’m perpetually the 15 minutes late type, which sucks – I need to change that. Or, my Puggle standing at the doorway, toy in mouth, ready to play. And music, always: The War on Drugs, Race The Tide, Van Morrison, Blood Orange, Washed Out, Fleetwood Mac, Charles Bradley, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Eagles, Sade (yes Sade)…the list goes on!

You never leave home without…

Sunglasses, water bottle, Aesop hand lotion, my OG cherry chapstick…

What are your closet essentials?

It’s frightening how many long dresses I’ve collected over the years…from vintage nightgowns to caftans, to current pieces – there is no shortage. I’ve also unofficially started collecting white sneakers. I love a clean, crisp, white shoe.

What is your biggest fashion regret?

I really went for it back in 2001 with questionably low Frankie B jeans, too tight/too cropped graphic tees, chokers, and Converse inked by what I thought were clever musings and doodles. Honestly though, I don’t have too many regrets. I think it’s fun to look back, eye-roll and laugh. My head gear at 13 was super sexy though…that I don’t regret at all…

You always splurge on, and you always save on…

Splurge on weekend trips, dinners with friends, self-care, sunglasses and dresses. Save on bags and outwear, since LA is a hotbox.

What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?

I went to Catholic school, where we had to be in uniform every day. I still own, love and wear a crewneck sweater from those days. Very cute. Very collegiate.

What inspires your style most?

Places I’ve visited and people I love: Ojai, Bali, Kenya, Cartagena, Stevie Nicks, Brigitte Bardot, my friends, people I saw at Burning Man this year…

Your #1 style tip is…

If I’m not comfortable in whatever I’m wearing, forget about bringing the good ole’ vibes. Be comfortable, ignore trend, treat yourself sometimes, and ultimately, do whatever feels right. Also, when the time calls for bare feet and no bra, I’m likely the happiest.
