Kasuni Rathnauriya is the designer behind KUR. Having begun the line in 2009, Kasuni brought her vision to New York this past fashion week season. The breezy silhouettes and distinct lacework are a true homage to the craftsmanship and handwork Kasuni puts into each of her designs. Her eye for detail and appreciation for simplicity is mirrored in her everyday life, resulting in no-brainer good style.

How do you start your day off?

With my bed tea. I’ll also check my plans for the day, and if it’s not too busy, I try to read a bit.

What’s going on in the background when you are designing?

Nothing. No music, because music takes me to another world. When I am designing, I don’t want to go to another world. I should be in the reality.
