Christian Owens, Savannah King, Lyla Vander, and Brianna Lance came together to form Bad Girlfriend as an all-girl band, specifically. Leather motorcycle jackets and cat suits. Also, we like a good leather mini skirt.

Who or what inspires the Bad Girlfriend aesthetic?

I think trying to come together on things we all like more than anything else. If all four of us divas can get into something, it’s gold, but also a killer babe always helps inspire. Pattie Smith, Francoise Hardy, Maryanne Faithful, etc.

Who is your biggest fashion influences and why?

Probably The Ramones, just because they kept a uniform they all could wear. And they had great legs.

Do you borrow from the boys? And what do you borrow?

Duh, always. T-Shirts, jackets, hoodies, whatever they got that’s good, you gotta steal it.

Going out on a typical Saturday night, you’re wearing…

It depends on how rough the Saturday was. Rough one: Jeans and t-shirts. Chill one: mini skirt, dress, leather shorts. You know, something spicier.

What is one piece of clothing you would steal from your 16 year old self?

Ah man, I think we all had some pretty good crop tops that could do a second visit in our lives.

What is your formula for getting dressed?

Normally, it’s getting something you love and wearing it straight for a week, then switching it up once you get bored. That or just do what Joey Ramone did.
