Q&A
How do you start your day off?
Puppy cuddles and meditating on a page from The Book of Awakening.
You never leave home without…
Make Up Forever lipliner in cold nude. I’m a minimalist makeup wear-er, so it’s the perfect colour for making my face look alive.
What are your closet essentials?
Ripped jeans, indian cotton dresses, a good white tee and a great leather jacket.
What is going on in the background while you get ready?
Usually not too much. It only takes me about 20 minutes to get ready once I’m out of the shower, and I’m pretty much always in a mad dash – so I’m very focused on the task at hand!
What is your biggest fashion regret?
I went through a knee-high gladiator sandal phase about 5 years ago that really never matched my look. I look at those photos and cringe!
You always splurge on and you always save on…
I love to buy good leather staples— jackets, boots, belts bags. Anything that might be considered trendy, I’ll try and save on so don’t feel bad when it’s time to move it along.
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
I was really into the 70’s look and had my grandmother embroider a pair of my favorite jeans, since my Mom had gotten rid of hers years ago. I was so bummed she hadn’t kept hers and of course I now I can’t believe I didn’t keep mine!
Your fashion motto is…
Simple always wins.
Your #1 style tip is…
Dress how you feel on a given day – even if you had something else prepared. By wearing what matches your mood, the way you carry yourself will elevate the whole look.
