Hanna Strub

Hanna wearing the new Dior sunnies that everyone is coveting!

A portion of her shoe closet!

And a portion of her jewelry collection!

If you're going for the monochrome kind of look.

"it’s crucial that I can tell the difference between people and trees"

We love a girl who loves playing with colour.

Hanna's first pair of Chanel sunglasses!

Chanel boots and a black guitar...there has to be a song about this.

A typical outfit for daytime activities.

One in every colour right?

Bio

Hanna Strub is a homegrown talent that knew right from the start that she was destined to work in fashion. How or when was unknown, but things fell into place soon after she graduated from McGill University. Getting her first taste of the fashion world with jewelry designer Rebekah Price, Hanna quickly found success as she fell in love with retail. Having worked with Price and Canada’s Holt Renfrew, Hanna went on to work with iconic brands, Chanel and Tiffany’s. As a self-described people person with a knack for knowing how to make people feel incredible about themselves, we’re sure you’ll fall in love with Hanna’s confident style and way of being.

Q&A

How do you start your day off?

I take my 4 lb. Teacup Yorkie-Poo, Louis, for a walk. He’s a bit like me. He’s tiny, yet he thinks he’s a doberman.

What’s going on in the background when you get ready?

I am proud to admit that I have my “Guilty Pleasure” playlist on. It a little mix of 90s R&B, some BSB, No Doubt…anything that you know will get stuck in your head the rest of the day!

You never leave home without…

That is a tough one – my glasses (it’s crucial that I can tell the difference between people and trees), my Armani 400 lipstick, that I’ve been wearing for years, as it’s the best thing to throw on when you need a quick pick me up, and at least 4 pieces of jewelry, so when I wear a tee and jeans, it feels like I made an effort!

What are your closet essentials?

A shoe for every occasion, a great tuxedo blazer, a cropped moto leather jacket, J Brand Maria high rise skinny jeans (in every wash) and a crisp oxford white button-down.

What is your biggest fashion regret?

Empire waisted anything…including my prom dress.

You always splurge on, and you always save on…

COST PER WEAR! Divide what you buy, by the amount of times you’re going to use it, and that’s how much it really costs. My splurges are great shoes, blazers, jewelry and handbags. The rest is cheap and cheerful, but you would never know!

What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?

My Adidas 3 stripe runners. I had 5 pairs in different colours. I can’t believe I got rid of them!

Your fashion motto is…

Don’t think about it, just wear it. Don’t worry if you feel like someone else might think what you have on doesn’t make sense. If a big statement necklace speaks to you that day, then throw it on and don’t look back.

Your #1 style tip is…

Accessories are what make your fashion identity yours. Always add in a piece of jewelry and or a great shoe, and and you can change a look a million different ways.
