From the sky, to the sea, to a freshly stocked denim store, shades of blue are where it’s at. Just like getting a song stuck in your head, colours can lock you in and stay on your mind. And right now blue is all we can think about.

Of course denim is always the mainstay true blue in everyone’s hearts simply out of familiarity. We grow up in our jeans, breaking them in, wearing them out, and the experience is added to by the colour as it changes over time. What begins as a rich indigo could fade over the years to a pale sapphire. And it’s part of what makes blue so captivating. Each shade tells it’s own story in a sense. Navy gives off a very different vibe than periwinkle, for example. Whether you like polished, ladylike or easy, breezy style there are certain blues that will lend themselves to the story you want to tell.

Since blue is always a major part of any wardrobe, we think it’s fitting that the colour is welcomed openly into our beauty looks. Blue eye makeup has a reputation for not being the most flattering, but so does orange lipstick and we fancy ourselves a tangerine lip every so often. Again, the shade of blue makes all the difference.
