Q&A
How do you start your day off?
If I’ve slept properly (which is rare these days), I make a smoothie and indulge in an episode of something funny. I then like to do a 9 or 10am workout class (usually yoga or spin), and then, once I’ve made my coffee, I’m ready for the day!
What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?
An episode of something funny!
You never leave home without…
My iPhone, wallet, lip balm, gum and lipstick. If it’s not deep winter, a helmet for me to wear while on my bike.
What are your closet essentials?
In the summer, I’m pretty much exclusively wearing slip dresses or sundresses with heeled sandals. In the winter, it’s jeans or tights and a million big-ass sweaters. I also have a million jackets, but I’m always cold.
What is your biggest fashion regret?
Probably most of the ’00s, but I thought I looked FIERCE, so who cares?
You always splurge on, and you always save on…
I usually splurge on dumb things, like tiny impractical purses. I don’t love to spend too much on shoes because I really abuse them.
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
I actually wear a lot of my late ’90s closet, but that’s much earlier. I think I dressed peak ugly when I was 16 – I was like a really budget Carrie Bradshaw, but not even that close.
What inspires your style most?
…Carrie Bradshaw? That, and like…strippers, Miami and the ’90s.
Your #1 style tip is…
Don’t wear anything that doesn’t feel like you.
