Q&A
How do you start your day off?
With a cat butt in my face…
What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?
More cats.
You never leave home without…
A ring on every finger.
What are your closet essentials?
Everything in my closet is super essential to me – I’m a hoarder. I love everything: ripped tees barely hanging on for life, obnoxious sequin gowns, thigh high traffic cone orange boots…but more than any piece of clothing – my personal jewelry collection. I’m as good as dead without it.
What is your biggest fashion regret?
Always the things I didn’t buy. Never an embarrassing outfit. Those are the best.
You always splurge on, and you always save on…
I always splurge on antique gold jewelry – the older the better. I save on vintage denim. I’ve never purchased a pair from a ‘curated collection’. I’ve always thrifted.
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
All of those shiny, sporty, snap-off pants, a bright yellow raincoat with matching boots, and my t-shirt collection. The low-rise jeans can stay.
What inspires your style most?
My mood. I have a hard time defining my style. It’s a mix of emotion, what film or television show I have most recently watched, and the piece of clothing or jewelry I am obsessing over that day.
Your #1 style tip is…
Don’t read the Mari Kondo book about throwing everything away.
