Halloween is one of the best times of the year. For all the reasons you already know, like getting to be someone else for a night, and dressing up like a crazy person to no one’s dismay, October 31st never let’s us down. We know that part of the fun is the costume planning, but if you’ve fallen a little behind (or a lot behind, whoops…) we’ve got you covered. Here we have a list of costumes that not only let you be totally glam for night, but you’ll be likely to confuse anyone who doesn’t know fashion. Which makes it all the more fun when someone guesses who you are.
We’ve even hunted down some beginning pieces for each look. You’re welcome.
Grace Coddington
None other than one of the most influential people behind Vogue. She’s fun, she’s important, and best of all, she usually wears comfortable clothes. Think black trousers, plain sweatshirt, and slip on sneakers. Oh, and don’t forget the fire-ry red hair! Going as Grace means being unusually comfortable on Halloween, but there’s a first for everything.
Choupette
To the average person, you’ll just look like a cat. But in your heart, you know you’re more than just a cat. You’re Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld’s pride and joy with an Instagram personality that goes on for days.
Anna Wintour
Obvious? Yes. Classic? Always. Needless to say, since Ms Wintour’s been getting more media coverage than usual, you’ll be more recognizable to fellow party goers. But you get to be the all powerful Anna Wintour for the night. And people might be a little scared of you, which is what Halloween is really about right? Bonus points if you have a pal to go as Grace & Anna, the Vogue dynamic duo.
Iris Apfel
The lady we all know and love. Quirky, stylish, and iconic. Iris is one of the original big time influential fashion ladies. A leader in business, style, and interior design, it would be a total 360 from anyone’s daily life to get to be Iris Apfel for a night. Get some coloured faux fur, some costume jewelry, a pair of giant round glasses, and you’re set.
Lynn Yaeger
A familiar face seen at all the good fashion shows, contributing editor to Vogue’s website, and journalist of over thirty years. Who wouldn’t want to play dress up and get a makeover into the famous Lynn Yaeger. Her hair and makeup is her signature, so be sure to get it right and you’ll wow the socks off any fashion informed person you encounter.
