Who or what inspires the Kathleen Whitaker aesthetic?
Simplicity, timelessness, ease.
What is your favourite piece right now and why?
When I started making jewelery 10 years ago, I used gemstones. I am beginning again to incorporate stones into some current designs and am very excited about them. The 18K gold foils are now available as pendant necklace and ring, which are both beautiful.
What inspires your creative process?
The metal itself. Gold is a spectacular medium and any design rendered in pure gold makes it more elevated and beautiful.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is similar to the Kathleen Whitaker designs — I go for classic, refined, quality garments.
What is the one accessory you feel naked without?
Good shoes — a guilty pleasure that started early.
What is your formula for getting dressed?
Button-down shirt or crew neck sweater, with high-waisted jeans and a Samantha Grisdale belt and clogs. If it’s chilly, I’ll top that with a sweater coat or wool poncho.
