There are a great many things to love about shoes. They make our legs look longer, they make us stand up straighter, and they can pull an outfit together without even trying. A downside to shoes is the pain they sometimes (usually) cause our feet. Flats are the patron saint of blisters, bruises, and crushed toes, however they aren’t always the prettiest option in the wardrobe.
A step up from plain old ballerina flats are pointed toe flats. Somewhere along the way, ballet flats got a bad reputation that they can’t seem to shake, but pointed toe flats are a whole other story. The beautiful meeting of stilettos and flat shoes, pointed flats are a great middle ground.
We’ve seen them around for quite sometime. Having popped up in all varieties, colours, and stores, pointed toe flats were on our radar. Somewhere in-between the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall is when we started to fall in love with them.
Not only do they save your feet from some discomfort, but they are all at once feminine and masculine. Depending on the pair you pick, they are an easy way to go from ladylike to borrowing from the boys. Oxford inspired pointed flats, pointed-heels-without-the-heels flats, pointed toe smoking slippers…you name it, there’s a pointy version.
If you find yourself in need of a good ol’ reliable pair of shoes that a) look really nice, b) go well with multiple outfits, and c) won’t kill your feet, then thank your luck stars because pointed toe flats are not going anywhere.
