The One for All

Behind the scenes at Catherine Malandrino via Harpers Bazaar

If you’re anything like me, painting your nails is something you do on the weekly and is considerably just as fun as a Friday night out with your girlfriends; and while nail lacquer certainly isn’t going to solve first world problems, it speaks volumes when making first impressions, and is often the first (okay, maybe the second) thing people notice about you. Whether I’m stationed next to you at Her Majesty’s Pleasure or standing behind you at Starbucks, you can bet I’ve already judged your nail polish, and maybe your coffee order too.

Fact of the matter is, your nail lacquer matters and it can and will be held against you. For 2015, I’d say I’m all for trying new things, but there’s nothing worse than leaving the salon feeling like you’ve committed a crime by trying something new: you hate the shade that you loved five mins ago, and realize you are now stuck with it for a week or two. The good news is that such manimares can be prevented with a universal nail colour, one that compliments everyone regardless of skin tone, nail shape, and personality.

Burgundy – it’s sexy yet sophisticated; it’s perfect for the fall/winter season and tasteful across all boards. Essie calls it a romantic travel companion, we call it the little black dress of nail lacquer. So, trust us when we say burgundy is the colour for you. Coming from a diehard sheer pink nail lacquer hoarder, this means a lot.
