Rarely, if ever, do I get so passionate about a beauty product or trend that I feel motivated to share it with anyone who will listen. I’ve done it with various skin creams, and maybe a mascara or two. I’ll try to talk every single one of my friends and family into trying whatever it is I’m preaching. It takes something special to make the cut.

Grey nail polish is one of those things.

Nude? Boring.

Red? Been there, done that.

Grey? The best nail colour that has ever happened to me.

While grey might not be the newest or hottest nail trend to hit the main stage, it should be getting more recognition than it is. Why, you ask? It is the perfect colour! Grey is a little more interesting than nude, it’s more edgy than a pink, more relaxed than red, and a lot more toned down than dark nail colours. In other words, grey is the best neutral nail colour ever.

Minimal, chic nails are the big trend at the moment, and grey falls perfectly in line without being too fussy. DKNY, Thakoon, Narciso Rodriguez, and Proenza Schouler among others agree.

At once unique and classic, grey nails pair well with any outfit, any occasion, any mood, any season- if you’re in doubt of what to do with your nails, go for grey!

I’m running out of ways to express my love for this nail colour. Do yourself a favour and pick up a couple grey nail polishes the next time your in the market for a new lacquer. You will not regret it.
