Needless to say, we enjoy ourselves a fair bit of retail therapy. Online or in-store doesn’t matter to us if there are beautiful clothes to be inspired by. Though, while online perusing is personal in its own special way (hello, late night shopping sprees in the comfort of our beds), the social aspect of actually going shopping is still fun.
In our shopping travels, we’ve discovered that are so many personal facets to IRL shopping that vary person to person. We are pretty much oblivious to our own shopping habits because they are, well, habits.
List vs No List
You either have a game plan or you go with the flow. If you are pro shopping list, you are probably one of those “get in, get out” shoppers. There ain’t no shame in knowing what you want. If you’re a no list kinda gal, you more than likely gravitate towards whatever catches your trained eye.
Clear Path vs Wanderer
Stores are set up in a way that basically direct traffic through the space, allowing you to travel to wherever they think you should go first. The set route is great, generally, especially for those who are anti-list but still want some organization. For true wandering spirits, the path becomes a maze with no end. Circling the same section a couple times over is the norm, as is doing several laps around the whole place.
Multi-trip vs Pack Mule
There is no in-between on this one. You either take multiple trips to the fitting room, or go for one giant fitting room experience. You either pick and choose a limited number of items at a time, or pile them all on as you go. You either have exactly six items each time, or have to do a trade off for the rest of your picks. You can’t have both.
Keep it all vs Bring a lil Back
Yes, even post-shopping trip there are habits. Do you keep everything you’ve purchased? Or are you more prone to returning a couple impulse buys that you’ve now changed your mind on? If you usually bring some back, you should be a return policy pro (hopefully).
