Now that we are in the final stretch of Fashion month, and the weather is still cold and miserable, it’s time to think about taking preventative measures against the flu. Lord knows we don’t have the time for it!
While we still can’t ensure you won’t be touched by the flu this season, we have some ideas to help curb your symptoms. We keep these items on hand should a sick co-worker come into work or our roommates have a runny nose.
Bath Salts – The first item in our kits is all about relaxing. Stress can make you more susceptible to certain cold and flu triggers, so why not eliminate it with a warm soak after a long day. Not only will your body feel great, but your mind will be put to ease.
Electrolytes – This may seem like an obvious one, but you would be surprised to know how many people actually skip this part of a daily routine. Especially when we travel, we always carry a bottle of Smart Water with us to help recharge when our energy gets low.
Turmeric Powder – Turmeric powder has been used for centuries as ancient Asian remedies. Try to cook with turmeric at least once a week, incorporating it in everything from eggs to a smoothie.
Echinacea Goldseal – Whenever people around us start to sniffle, we whip out the Echinacea. It’s known for it’s immunity-boosting properties and can even help strengthen your system with the start of a cold starts coming on.
Juice Press Ginger Fireball – This a go-to for any cold and flu season. The ginger is mixed with cayenne, and creates one hell of an immunity boosting kick.
