Welcome to Spring!
Not sure if you’ve noticed, but these past couple weeks have been nothing less than a rollercoaster of weather. Snow, rain, a lot of wind, and summer sun have all come and gone in less than a month, and while we’re hoping the sun sticks around for a bit we know the rollercoaster probably isn’t through just yet.
Turns out it isn’t only April showers that we can expect to bring those May flowers.
With that thought looming over us, and with the current weather(s), there seems to be a conundrum that have yet to solve. What is this conundrum you ask? How to dress for unpredictable weather.
A coat is too heavy, a blazer is too light, boots a little too warm, but your feet just aren’t prepared to see the light of day yet. Don’t even get us started on the jeans vs dress vs trousers issue. If a whole day promises to be in one season it’s easier to dress for the occasion. It’s when the morning is autumn, the afternoon a nice summer day, and the evening a blast from the winter past, that the clothing options aren’t clear. Sure, layers are a safe go-to. Except when they don’t fit your mood-of-the-day or what you’ve already set out to wear. Or want to potentially be toting around the removed layers all day.
So then the issue becomes, “Do I wear the winter clothes and be too warm, or the summer clothes and be too cold?” We aren’t here to answer that impossible question, but consider the fact that you can always add a scarf or a wrap to an otherwise “summer” outfit. Paring down a cold weather getup isn’t always as easy.
When it comes to rain, the best thing to do is listen to that classic Mom advice— bring an umbrella.
It’s the best we can do.
