The TS Method:
The method to our madness.
Or, more appropriately, the madness to our method.
If you don’t know it already, at The Strategy, we’re all about understanding what inspires the style of our favourite trendsetters and fashion insiders. We want to know: Why are you wearing that? Since we ask our features what inspires their style, it’s only fair that we share what inspires ours. Our inspiration comes from everywhere, film, television, music, travel, etc., but there is one look I, personally, keep going back to.
Back in the early 2010s, Mary Kate Olsen rocked a ‘vintage’ Rolling Stones Tour of The America’s t-shirt with multiple layered chunky jewelled necklaces. On the bottom, she wore straight leg jeans and metallic peep toe pumps. Her arms were stacked with bracelets, and every finger had a ring on it. The look was featured on my favourite Olsen resource, Olsen’s Anonymous, as “Look of The Day.” Upon seeing it, I was immediately inspired.
Much like every other outfit the Olsen’s have worn, this is one I don’t see going out of style anytime soon. Sure, I’ve since retired my straight leg jeans and metallic peep-toe pumps, but the combination of vintage tees and chunky necklaces is here to stay. Whether I’m wearing it to a bar on a night out, out shopping, or on set, it’s a look that can be dressed up or down, and is so simple to put together.
While it can often be hard to pinpoint what exactly inspires style, this look is one that I know exactly where it came from.
