Dressing for holiday festivities this year is going to be unlike any other. There is no longer a concern for your brand new satin Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps getting stained with salt during your walk from car to doorway. There is no more concern of your legs freezing in your Self-Portrait mini dress. While entering a festive gathering to see the faces of our nearest and dearest, and indulging in too much egg nog will be missed, this new form of get-together is going to be interesting.
Road salt ruining shoes, heels slipping on icy walkways, and freezing legs, are the worst part of holiday get-togethers. We’ve always enjoyed the part of the holiday season where we bundle up in our favourite sweats, hug a bottle of red, with our feet covered in possibly hole-y wool socks and re-watch Bridge Jones’ Diary for the 100th time.
This year, it seems the holiday season will be dominated by the “Virtual Party”, where we still will get to hug a bottle of red while wearing our beloved wool socks, but we also will get a change to wear the crystal, embellished and festive looks we’ve been thinking about for the last year.
Get ready for Zoom-era holiday gatherings.
