Happy Masturbation May!
In case you were unaware, May is not only the month of flowers – it’s also a month to celebrate masturbation, as since 1995 the month also goes by the name of, “Masturbation May.”
Unfortunately, it’s 2022 and there are still many barriers in existence when it comes to sexual pleasure, in particular, female sexual pleasure. With shame, cultural conditioning and taboos, and a lack of sexual education, making many too self-conscious or embarrassed to talk about self-pleasure, we want to open-up the conversation. We want everyone to feel empowered to talk openly about self-pleasure and the many benefits that come with it. Among them: it’s good for your cardiovascular health, it helps you to understand what does and does not feel good for you sexually, and masturbation releases dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin – all hormones that make us feel good physically and mentally.
