Learning Amy Nobile’s style story.
Amy Nobile is a dating coach unlike any other dating coach. She’s a dating coach with four best-selling books with an Oprah stamp of approval, she co-founded the luxury jewelry brand, ASH + AMES, and has a completely unique method when it comes to helping others find love.
With Love, Amy, Amy marries modern-day dating app technology with a holistic focus on who you are and what’s important to you. Her dating coach service was launched in 2018 and includes professional photoshoots for dating app profiles, wardrobe and sexting consultations, and ‘ghost banters’. Don’t even think of her as a dating coach; she’s more of a wing-woman with a goal of helping you find love.
And she does so in Chanel slingback pumps.
Q&A
How do you start your day off?
I start my day off by meditating. Brett and I meditate in the morning together for 30 minutes and then I get ready for my day. I then look over my schedule. I probably have 40% of my clients in New York and 60% all over the country and international. Now that we can see people in person, I’ll do a mix of breakfast with a client, a couple of Zoom or FaceTime check-ins, I’ll launch someone’s Bumble or Hinge, and I also leave space for ‘on-demand’ calls.
What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?
Nothing! If I have anything going on, it’s music. I recently got into Chris Stapleton, so it’s Chris Stapleton Radio.
You never leave home without…
My watch that Brett got me for Christmas.
What are your closet essentials?
Right now, I’m into Frame jeans – I have one pair of really baggy, really comfortable Frame jeans. I have these Saint Laurent sneakers – white sneakers with silver stars that I’ve had for four or five years. Then, I like AMO t-shirts and maybe a baggy blazer. I tend to wear a similar outfit most days.
What is your biggest fashion regret?
I think I was terrible in fashion. When I first got my job in New York City when I was 23 and I didn’t have any money, I would go into these cheesy little stores and look at the mannequin in the front and walk out with the outfit – I just didn’t know what I was doing! I made really bad choices, but I feel like I got better.
You always splurge on, and you always save on…
I splurge on shoes, handbags and a coat (here and there).
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
Nothing! I was living in a Detroit suburb and dreaming of wearing what I wear now.
What inspires your style most?
The streets of New York. Also, I’m in LA a lot, so LA inspires my style. I think now, my style is 50/50 – matching sweatsuits for LA, and chic investment pieces for New York.
Your #1 style tip is…
Don’t wash your hair everyday. I used to worry about it so much, but I think it looks better less done, and less washed. Less is more.
