At TS, we strongly believe that every self-proclaimed fashion obsessed person has a special place in their heart for the ultimate cool-girl and trend setter, Chloë Sevigny.
Whether she is playing icons like Alice in Last Days of Disco, strolling down the street clad in a Chloé frilled dress and Miu Miu cowboy boots, or taking over your Tumblr feed with images of her partying in the 90s, aughts, and every fashion week, we boldly state that Chloë Sevigny is everyone’s style icon. Now, in the most exciting news of our fall season, we have learned that Chloë has once again partnered with eyewear brand, Warby Parker.
This is the brands third partnership with the actress, director and muse. They first worked together in 2018 on a Pupils Project Collection. For the collection, Chloë was asked by Warby Parker to design a pair of glasses, alongside Fran Lebowitz, Lena Dunham and Humberto Leon. The result of the collaboration? The Tate frame – a slim wire frame, dipped in the brands signature acetate with a keyhole bridge, inspired by stylist Camille Bidault Washington. The frame was one of the most popular from the collection and sold out, much like Chloë’s second collaboration with the brand in 2019. Since, fans have been begging the the brand to bring back the Tate frames.
The Tate frames are at the center of this new partnership. This time, the Chloë Sevigny x Warby Parker iteration of the Tate comes in a new colour way of Crystal with Polished Silver and is available as eyeglasses or sunnies. Also, each pair comes with a lens cloth designed by Chloë’s friend, artist and musician Lizzi Bougatsos, as well as a keepsake poster of Chloë that we know will immediately make it to our moodboards.
The campaign images for the collection were shot by Sevingy’s friend, Brianna Capozzi, and were self-styled by Chloë herself. In an effort to show off the versatility of the Tate frames, she paired them with looks ranging from a scholastic striped Oxford shirt with a satin hair bow to a Junya Watanabe skirt with tulle to a corset top.
We plan to pair the frames with our favourite chunky-knits for the fall, and then with a camel teddy coat into the winter. With the scholastic-yet-understated and elegant frame, styling options are endless.
And, each pair is part of Warby’s BUY A PAIR, GIVE A PAIR program. For each pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.
