Tis the season for shopping, and tis the season for seeing things you would like to buy for yourself while shopping. Online or in-store, it’s nearly impossible to make a shopping trip without running into something that catches your eye. The idea is to buy for other people, but when you see something that speaks to you and you alone, it’s hard to ignore.

For me, that case usually happens with shoes. Why am I in the shoe section while gift shopping? Not sure, but I always end up there and I always get in to a battle with my own will power.

How the thought process usually pans out: “Don’t buy the shoes. You don’t know need them, and yes the price is great but don’t buy them. Okay, buy them.”

What can I say, I’m strong willed in many aspects but footwear is not one of them.

On my recent shopping escapades, simple dainty shoes have been my weakness. Thin laces, delicate details like gold tips or a heel, and lots of white are what I’m being drawn to.

Aquazzura’s lace up Christy flats have been the centre of attention for a while now, and it doesn’t look like the momentum is going to slow down any time soon. Other brands are already hopping on board the style set by the Christy’s. The SS16 season is sure to be a great one for shoes if what we’re seeing so far is any indication. There are always tweaks and adjustments that go on, so you never know which style will be the star of the season.
For now, however, I’ll take one of each.
