People often think working from home is the best thing ever. “Do you work from your bed and stay in pyjamas all day?!” is a statement often heard after admitting that your job allows you to work from home. So false! Working from home of course has its pros, but there are also a lot of cons. After a combined many years of freelancing and consulting, our TS team knows what it takes to make working from home more comfortable and also, more professional. A combination that is often hard to achieve.
First off, is upgrading ‘the comfortable’. Save your chipped mugs for the weekend. Instead, we prefer to use a coffee mug that is our ‘work’ mug. The kind you would otherwise leave at your desk if you worked in-office. Then, slip into some sweats – but not you’re old high-school gym class ones. We upgraded ours for a pair that can easily take us from the comfort of our homes to a meeting at Soho House or a coffee run to Starbucks. We’re big believers in the power of your clothes (duh), and know this little change will make a world of difference when it comes to working from home. Finally, invest in some proper stationary. Even if it’s just for jotting down memo’s to yourself, you want to give yourself a more professional feel.
