Comic books are somewhat a thing of the past, but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate them and get a little inspiration from them every now and again. With the release of Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For upon us, we bet there’s going to be a lot of leather and graphic black and white happening for a while.

You know there’s going to be serious style inspiration coming from the movie. That poster of Eva Green (you know the one) alone has femme fatale written all over it. And we can’t get enough.

While most of the pop art-esque comic trend is behind us, we look towards a less cartoon, more sketch-y type of influence. Some of the “BANG CRASH POW” survived, but it’s subtle rather than in your face like the last time around. A darker, edgier comic if you will. Which is why Sin City ties perfectly into the matter! Especially with autumn right around the corner, we’re all itching to get our hands on those F/W styles that bring some warmth and darkness to the cooling weather.

Boyfriend jeans with manga patches, sweatshirts, and boots brought to us by Alexander McQueen are a great way to get subtle hints of that comic book feel. And since they’re black and white, you can only really tell what they are if you’re up close. From far away they are just a cool black and white print. For something with colour, but still an accent piece, there are tons of really artsy comic book inspired clutches to add a little something extra to your ensemble. Going beyond obvious comic prints, anything black and white, or with bold colours and lines can draw from comic references.

Let your inner nerd have some time in the spotlight. Or rather, let your inner comic book bad ass have some time in the spotlight.
