While saying goodbye to warmer days is bittersweet, the excitement that comes with cold days and colder nights does not disappoint. There are a great many things to love about cold weather, but one of the best is the blanket scarf.
The blanket scarf is a marvel in the accessory world. It will not only keep you warm when you are cold, it will add that little something extra that makes your outfit look that little bit better. When you have a really good outfit put together, the last thing you want to do is drown it with a coat, scarf, other bits and pieces that will keep all your extremities comfortable. We’ve all had days where we go against our better judgment (and our Mom’s advice), and leave the scarf at home. Which would be all fine and dandy if we didn’t immediately regret our choice. And let’s be honest, there are few things worse than not being to stop shivering or that headache you get when your neck is too cold.
If you’re going to have to deal with autumn and eventually winter, you might as well like the getup you have to wear over your actual getup in order to survive the elements. This is where the blanket scarf comes into play. Fashion and functionality have never gotten along so well as they do in the form of the blanket scarf.
Part of being a really great scarf is not being a nuisance when you get your your destination. No, a blanket scarf probably won’t fit into the sleeve of your coat, but it does make the best blanket ever in a cold movie theatre/casual restaurant/car. Blanket scarves are also great for those days when its too warm for a full out coat, but too cold for just a sweater.
Think of it this way: Lately it’s been all about outerwear options, right? Ponchos, capes, fuzzy sweaters, more leather jackets than anyone needs, and coats in every colour and fabric. With a blanket scarf it’s like you’re getting a scarf, sweater, poncho, and handy blanket, all in one.
Do yourself a favour. Get a blanket scarf.
