Today, at The Strategy, we’re wishing the incredibly talented, Christian Dior, a very happy birthday.
In the midst of celebrating in our tacky party hats, we begin to reminisce about all things Dior:
Starting with the “New Look” of 1947 – when Christian Dior revolutionized the fashion scene during his first show; and then there’s the Bar Suit complete with a shantung coat and pleated midi skirt – Oh, the skirts! The full, extravagant, lengthy skirts that make us want to twirl round and round; the accentuated waists, soft shoulders, and blossoming bottoms that make us feel so womanly; the haute couture gowns appropriate for every late night Cinderella ball; the luxurious fabric and the feeling that there will always be enough of it to go around; the ‘Dear Dior’ collection of gems and pearls that make us feel as classy and elegant as our great grandmothers; and how could we forget the flower women? Head to toe floral prints and scents of jasmine and iris.
For over six decades, these remain the elements of the Dior signature look we’ve all come to love and admire: a look that you can also achieve with a little help from us below.
J’adore Dior!
