New Shoes

New Shoes

Written by The Strategy

After the long and trying winter we’ve all gone through here in Toronto, there is a palpable buzz in the air over this whole “spring” business. People talk in quiet whispers about the welcome change in weather almost as if talking too loud would scare it away. Everyone is too excited about the warm weather and the change in attire it beckons to risk jinxing.

One of the best things about going from winter to spring is the freedom our feet have from the confines of layered socks and fur lined boots. Sandals seem like an oasis in a snow desert; the light at the end of a very dark, very cold tunnel. And this spring, the shoes are looking ridiculously tempting.

There is something about the structured mules in stark white that really has us hooked. They are so minimalistic while still interesting that we simply cannot resist. And gladiators, obviously. Maybe not for right now, but in a few short weeks we will definitely be breaking out our favourite gladiator sandals and wearing them proudly. There’s a clear image of strolling around town with a coffee in hand, some blue jeans on, and a great pair of gladiators that is just the most exciting thing right now.

Also on the obsession list are slides, which are making a strong comeback. Last year was prime time for the slide-on style, and it’s pretty great that they made enough of an impact to stick around for another year. Easy, breezy footwear, here we come! Again.

We can literally go on and on and on about the shoes that we’re lusting after right now, but for the sake of sanity, we’ll leave the rest for you to explore.

Bottom line: The “simple but interesting” aesthetic has peaked our interest for the Spring season.

Now, we’re off to go fulfill that jeans and gladiator sandals vision.
