Our tag line here at TS is, “Why are you wearing that?“. It is our goal with our weekly ‘Stories‘, to learn more about what inspires our favourite trendsetters when they get dressed everyday. For us, we realized, nothing influences our style more than what we see on the streets, and, our Instagram feeds.
Each morning begins with a cup of coffee in hand, and a scroll-through of our Insta. Outfits we like are screenshot and put into our ‘Inspiration’ folder to look at on a later date while outfits with pieces we have to have are pulled up on our desktop as we put aside all work to track down the pieces we need.
Perhaps some of you are also like us, and find Instagram a source of inspiration, so we decided to share with you some of our favourite recent looks, and our findings on where to get the actual pieces, or simple just get the look!
Caroline Stanbury – @CarolineStanbury
Is it too late to want to be Caroline Stanbury when we grow up? Her feed fills us with envy (trips to the Maldives, a perfect family, and THAT closet!?! drool) on a daily basis. So, it’s a thrill when we are able to break down her wardrobe and find pieces that are within our price range. In this pic she’s wearing a Rag & Bone Camden Long Sleeve Tee, available at Revolve Clothing, Frame Denim Black Distressed Le Skinny and Céline Black Cat Eye sunglasses, available at Harvey Nichols.
Eva Chen – @EvaChen212
We have tried countless times to recreate Eva Chen’s backseat pics, but we always end up falling off the seat and getting odd looks from our taxi drivers in the rearview mirror. Eva, how do you do it?! This shot right here sums up the reason we are in love with this EIC. She is a huge fan of mixing high and low and she doesn’t claim to be a fashionista who wears heels 24/7. Pictured here at sneakers from Adidas x Raf Simmons, and Adidas Originals Superstars, available at Urban Outiftters.
Camille Charrière – @Camtyox
Camille Charrière’s blog Camille Over the Rainbow, is one of our favourites for a daily fashion feed, so obviously her Instagram would be a daily drool fest for us. This Insta pic is one of our favourites for Spring/Summer transition inspiration. The pieces we can’t wait to get our hands on are, H&M’s Fringed Skirt, available at H&M, Superga ‘Linu’ Linen sneakers, available at Nordstroms, and the Anine Bing (hey girl!) Striped Silk Blouse.
Mindy Kaling – @MindyKaling
Mindy, Mindy, Mindy. How we love thee. If we don’t get season 4 of The Mindy Project, we don’t know how we would get on. We’d be inconsolable. Luckily, until we find out the fate of TMP, we have Mindy Kaling’s Instagram feed to keep us warm. While the Rodarte ‘Radarte’ sweater is a gift to Mindy from Rodarte, you can get your own at Forward by Elyse Walker.
MarieLou Bartoli – @mlbartoli
We want to either be BFFs with MarieLou Bartoli and her twin sister Chloe, or we want to live in California and have the duo be our stylists. Until either of those dreams come to fruition, we’re taking in all the inspiration we can from the girls separate Instagram feeds. While we couldn’t find the exact Armani Exchange blazer MarieLou is wearing in this picture, we were able to find a similar one, available at Armani Exchange. We paired this with vintage Wrangler Shorts, available at Urban Outfitters, and an Elizabeth & James Crop Top.
And if you’re not already, don’t forget to follow @TheStrategyStories, duh!
