Usually when a trend becomes popular it’s by one of two ways. The first is that is pops up over night and takes the world by storm, as demonstrated by the ever-loved Mom Jean. The second way is a slow and steady climb that builds over time. It begins as an small idea. The idea starts to make its way into the mainstream through little mentions here and there, and then suddenly it’s the latest, greatest thing.
One of those ideas we’ve been hearing about more and more is face massages.
Since beauty has been taking a strong turn toward skincare, there is more focus on making skin healthier as opposed to covering issues up with creams and concealers.
Face massages are said to promote circulation and tension relief, which leads to all kinds of benefits. Increasing the circulation in the skin, starting from the neck up, can make all the difference for tired complexions. It’s recommended to gently massage the eye area to get rid of puffiness and bags. While focusing on pressure points around the mouth, temples and forehead releases tension in your muscles, which allows you to feel more relaxed.
And, bonus, both increased circulation and tension relief aid in anti-aging efforts.
There are tons of videos that offer tips and tricks about face massages, but we go to the best of the best, which happens to be this video by Lisa Eldridge.
At first it kind of sounds like a strange idea that your health crazed friends would push you toward to “rid toxins.” Which it does kind of do, but that’s not the point. The point is that ten or fifteen minutes of rubbing your face can dramatically improve your skincare routine. By using vitamin oils, creams, and even tools to target certain areas, a plethora of skin issues can be solved.
Products will absorb into your skin better, you will look and feel like a million bucks, and it can be done while binge watching Netflix.
Sounds like a deal.
