Warm n' Toasty

Warm n' Toasty

Written by The Strategy

Often times, when the seasons change we adopt change into other areas of our lives. They can be as obvious as a wardrobe change or as minute, but equally as impactful, as a fragrance change.

To some it sounds odd, but it makes total sense when you think about it. You wouldn’t wear your denim cutoffs in the dead of winter, and you wouldn’t wear your parka in July. Same goes for perfume. Generally, when the cold weather rolls around, everyone wants to be surrounded by a sense of warmth, luxury, and heaviness to make up for the fact that you can’t feel your face for a majority of the time between November and March.

Our daily fragrance falls right in line with all our other seasonal adjustments. Warmer, heavier scents are what we’re drawn to right now, fitting perfectly with some new releases that have come out.

Marc Jacobs’ new scent, Decadence, is strikingly different from his other fragrances. Unlike Daisy and all her counterparts, Decadence falls more in line with Lola in that it is a heavy floral-loaded perfume. Where it makes itself unique is that where the others are playful, Decadence is glamorous and sophisticated.

Clinique’s Aromatics in Black is the follow up to the first Aromatics in White. Naturally, the newest addition is darker and more heavily scented, toting notes like jasmine and myrrh. Once the fruity top notes wear down, the smokey, spiced scent of myrrh and vetiver leave a delicious scent that lingers like incense.

On the very high end side of things, Jo Malone’s new releases feature distinctly spice-inspired fragrances. Mimosa & Cardamom blends the sweetness of a mimosa with the spice of fresh cardamom for a scent thats interesting and addictive. Hints of rose and sandalwood add to the unique scent, making it homey and familiar but sharp and new all at once.

No matter which you choose, you’re sure to be doused in all the luxurious, toasty warm fragrance you crave.
