Seasonal Adjustments

Seasonal Adjustments

Written by The Strategy

When seasons change, there is the inevitable change in the small details of our every day lives. Things like outerwear and lipstick colours are obvious, but others aren’t out in the open. Your socks get thicker, your scarves are hiked higher, and your patience hits an all time low. But don’t let that get in the way of remembering that winter and summer have very different needs. In case you’ve been basking in the warm temps too much to make the switch, we’re here to remind you of those items that you might want to swap.

One of the most common changes is probably is the cold weather face cream.

The most common change is probably the winter face cream. Light, mattifying creams are put away for the season while their heavier, hydrating counterparts are picked up. PSA: you still need SPF, and a little luminosity in a tinted moisturizer never hurt anyone. You might need to reach for lighter, less bronze shades as well. But you probably already know that.

SPF also still matters in your winter lip balm. You might be wearing more lipstick than in the warmer months of the year, but nothing ruins the look more than chapped lips. Healing balms might just be your windchill BFF, and for an extra boost there’s always old reliable— Vaseline.

When it’s warm out, it’s very possible that you keep some blotting sheets and face mist on hand at all times. In the winter, you should trade them out for (or add on to them with) hand and nail cream and a little can of static guard. Every year we groan about the dripping temperatures, the snow, the ice, the crowds of people. And each year we forget the real evil of cold weather: static. Don’t let it get the best of you this time around.
