Toronto Cocktails

The Libertine Speakeasy

Montauk

Written by The Strategy

One of the best parts of the holidays, is when everyone returns home. Though you may only have an evening. a get-together with old friends is a great holiday tradition. A question I’ve been asked time and time again in the past few weeks is “Where should we go?” and “What’s a good place for drinks”. After racking my brain a bit, I’ve come up with a list of 5 places, I always recommend for a great cocktail.

First up is The Libertine. It’s one of Toronto’s best hidden bars, located down the stars of a Tarot Card reading sign. The speak-easy style lounge not only offers amazing drinks, it also has a great menu for late night noms. (1307 Dundas St. West)

Montauk is a usual for my crowd. The small bar is perfect for catching up with friends, over specially crafted cocktails. Whether you’re ordering a whisky sour or a French 77, you will feel fancy with whatever you are holding. (765 Dundas St. West)

If your friends are the laid back sort who enjoy pizza and good old’ fashioned game machines, they will love Get Well. A huge draw for this place is the craft beer selection and the fact that they serve North Of Brooklyn Pizza through the night…(1181 Dundas St. West)

Cocktail Bar serves some amazing cocktails, and like The Libertine, has a bit of a speakeasy vibe. Be sure you don’t pass by it though! Only a small discreet Cocktail Bar sign hangs out front. I couldn’t tell you how many people walk right on by it. (923 Dundas St. West)

Finally, let’s move off Dundas West! Our last stop for a drink is a place you can only get in to if you are a member or have a member in your friend group. Soho House has a relaxed vibe and a great cocktail selection. All floors of the house serve food and drinks, so seat yourself anywhere you like! And while you cell phones aren’t permitted, there is a a Photo Booth to commemorate your experience. (192 Adelaide St. West)
