2015 was quite the year. Fashion and style hit all time highs, making way for creativity, mixing, matching, and a great sense of ‘anything goes’. In terms of Style Stars, we saw the continued reign of our old favourites along with the rising power of newcomers. The media frenzied, trends were set, and It-girls had their days in the sun.
On the radar for 2015, we have a few personal faves that deserve a mention.
Starting us out is none other than Gigi Hadid. With her mile-long legs and killer bod, pretty much anything she wears strikes envy into our hearts. Some might say that 2015 was very much so the year of Gigi. Campaigns left and right, too many editorials and features to keep track of, and on top of it a great sense of personal style— a new kind of modern tomboy chic. Jeans and a tee never looked so good.
Alicia Vikander is just beginning her reign as a Style Star, following her tried and true rise to fame through a slew of successful films. She’s already being heralded as the “Star to Watch” for the new year by Hollywood critics, and she makes equally as big an impact on the style scene. Alicia is starting off 2016 with a bang as Vogue’s January covergirl.
Lily-Rose Depp is the youngest but perhaps most organically fashioned Style Star. She simply (not so simply) gained style speed on social media among the teens. Millions of reblogs, re-grams, and devoted accounts, and a stamp of approval by Mr Lagerfeld himself later, Lily-Rose became a fully-fledged style icon. Easy, classic Cool Girl style is her go to, and with parents like hers, we imagine it comes naturally.
Poppy Delevingne is one of the aforementioned old favourites. For years she inspired looks day and night, and as time goes on her influence only gets stronger. Poppy is the Style Star that brings whimsy and fun together with serious sartorial genius. Such is the way with eternal style icons—everything they do is seemingly effortless. Which is why Poppy lands herself on our list year after year.
Rounding up our round up of 2015’s Style Stars are the twin sister stylist duo Chloe and Marie-Lou Bartoli. Part glam, part vintage, and all cool, the Bartoli’s are the styling wonders behind Miranda Kerr, Shay Mitchel, Nicole Richie, and fellow Style Star, Poppy Delevingne. Not only do Chloe and Marie-Lou build style for others, their own is impeccable. As the minds of style that give us endless inspo on their clients, it’s about time they get their own recognition.
