Surviving Winter

Surviving Winter

Written by The Strategy

By now, winter is getting to the best of us. Your skin is dry, your lips constantly chapped, and your wardrobe has gone from layered chic to just layered. We get you! However, being Canadians, we’ve discovered some simple ways to dig you out of a winter rut.

Let’s start with our favourites. There is nothing like a visit to the spa during the coldest months of the year. The warm massage table, the soothing oils, it all relaxes you, while giving you a solid 90 minutes out of the cold. Not to mention, the shoulders you’ve been tucking up against your ears, will finally feel at ease.

When the temperatures drop, it gets harder and harder to leave the warmth of your own home, but get out there and either make a reservation at your favourite resto, or hit up the gym for even 30 minutes of movement. Bonus points if you manage to squeeze in a hot yoga class.

Upon your return home, or to fill up a blizzard-y lazy Sunday, listen to some records, pull out your favourite polish, and give yourself a little pampering. We’re talking face/hair mask treatments, nail polish touch-ups and a glass of champagne. Another indulgence we have for this, is the use of luxury bath products. You feel like you are truly at the spa!

Lastly, nothing lifts winter spirits quite like cashmere sweaters and a good book. If you do nothing else, at least make sure these two are in your life.
