Elise Gabriel is a working woman of our dreams. While working as a marketing agency executive, she launched Accidentally Jetset, a fashion and beauty blog that had us hooked. Now, she has created direct-to-consumer skincare company, Paradox, a beauty company that produces luxe, organic skincare. When she’s not working away at Accidentally Jetset or Paradox, she also hosts an E-Commerce Female Founders dinner series. We actually don’t know how she does it.
How do you start your day off?
5:30AM-6:00AM: I wake up, answer e-mails in bed, stretch, drink hot lemon water, make homemade green juice (4 days a week – I am too busy the others), get dressed, and go!
What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?
My boyfriend making a nasty way-too-healthy smoothie. I refuse to drink it!
You never leave home without…
My vitamin sprays!!! I realized I am horrible at taking vitamins unless I keep them with me while I’m on the go. I recently discovered that you can get many of the key vitamins I like to take in a spray from. You just spray it in your mouth when you’re on the run, then throw it back in your purse. Now, I take my vitamins 3 times a day! I’m so thankful my mom turned me onto this hack.
What are your closet essentials?
Recently, my black beret (4€ in France!), black turtleneck, black boots of various styles, Levi’s jeans, and warm oversized wool coats – in black. I see a them here 😉. Simplicity in my wardrobe allows me to reserve brainpower for working on building my company, Paradox.
What is your biggest fashion regret?
Dear God! I have spent so much money on experimentation and trends! I always get overly ambitious and think that I am one of those girls who can effortlessly pull off crazy things like mesh tops and matching tracksuit sets, but honestly, I can’t. I just need to stick to the classics.
You always splurge on, and you always save on…
I splurge on handbags. I save on basic tanks and tees.
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
I miss the perfect leather jacket my younger sister stole from me. I’ve never found it since…
What inspires your style most?
Clothing that makes me feel empowered.
Your #1 style tip is…
Novelty travel souvenirs get old. Memories from beautiful trips you take, never do. Instead of spending money on bulky souvenirs you’ll never use, buy yourself beautiful pieces of jewelry. When you’re back at home, you’ll look down and think about a happy memory. I’ve done this for years and it’s brought me so much joy.
