Q&A
How do you start your day off?
I usually take my daughter to school, then go workout; I either do yoga, or I have a Peloton bike at home. Then, I get ready and come to work.
What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?
My brain is going 1000 miles a minute. I don’t even listen to music. I’m just sitting, putting my make-up on and thinking of 1000 things.
You never leave home without…
My wallet, my cell phone…Besides the obvious, I have a ring that my husband gave me that I always wear and some things that my children have given me that I never take off.
What are your closet essentials?
A great handbag! I have tons of them. I love them, and I’m a handbag person. To me, accessories are everything. You can wear jeans and a plain t-shirt, but great jewelry and a great handbag says everything.
What is your biggest fashion regret?
I don’t know if it’s necessarily a regret, because I don’t like to regret anything. I think you learn from your mistakes. I think the ugliest look is the 80s, with the big hair and the shoulder pads. So, if I was to say what I liked the least out of my fashion, it would probably be that. Not that I regret it, because that was the fashion of the time. But still, when you look back at those photos, they’re hideous!
You always splurge on, and you always save on…
I save on nothing and I splurge on a handbag.
What is one piece of clothing you wish you could steal from your 16 year old self?
Miniskirts all the way! My mom used to say to me, “Why are you wearing a belt out?” I used to have a Burberry kilt, that I shortened to 16.5 inches.
What inspires your style most?
I would have to say, it’s not any one thing in particular, but I like things that are fun and sexy. Life is so serious and we have one life to live, so why not make it fun. Why does everything have to be so serious?
Your #1 style tip is…
To be happy and comfortable in what you wear. You can be the sexiest, most beautiful girl, but if you’re not comfortable in what you wear, it shows.
