We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: We love our jobs here at TS HQ, and our favourite part has to be testing out all the amazing beauty products that get sent to our doorstep. We also have a mad obsession with Glossier, so you wouldn’t believe the excitement when Glossier introduced us to Glossier Play. Our editors gave Glossier Play a try, and here’s what we had to say about it:
Colorslide, Technogel Eye Pencil
We tested the Colorslide Technogel Eye Pencil in Early Girl. It gave a creamy, gel-like application, with high pigmentation in just one swipe. The long lasting opaque colour has a matte finish and is perfect for a pop of colour on the waterline or even on the lid, that would compliment any eye look.
Vinylic Lip
We tried the high shine lacquer in Blow-Up. It’s a buildable pigmentation that starts as a “your lips but better’ gloss and can be built into a highly pigmented, super glossy lip lacquer. The moisturizing formulation leaves the lips hydrated and plump, while the colour and effect is long lasting.
Niteshine
We used this highlighter concentrate in Deep Copper. This liquid highlighter is the perfect product for our makeup lovers and novices. The highly pigmented formulation can be either sheered out for a subtle glow or left as is. It’s non-greasy formula with a fine glitter, provides the perfect glow. This highlighter can be used either under foundation to give a more subtle shine, on top of a full face of makeup or even on bare skin. Whether you’re looking for the ultimate highlighter of a subtle glow, this product can be “played” with to give you your desired look.
Glitter Gelée
We tested the multigrade palettes in Firewalk. This belly-like mix of fine and larger glitter is best used for a statement eye-look. This formulation is packed with varying sizes of glitter to give the best reflection of light from every angle. For the best application, apply with Glossier’s silicone precision multitool or a dense flat packing brush, as it allows for a cleaner, more isolated application that a finger cannot provide.
