We were first introduced to Hélène when we stumbled across her Instagram. We were hooked from the first post. Her style was something we strived for and her aesthetic was something we couldn’t get enough of. Naturally, on a trip to New York, we had to meet up with the Montreal (Canada, represent!) native to discuss her style. We popped by the Brooklyn pad she shares with her husband and dog to find out just what exactly inspires her style.

How do you start your day off?

This is going to sound counter-intuitive, but I get up super early because I’m not a morning person—it takes me forever to enter the world. On a good day, I spring out of bed to take a jog with my dog, followed by an extra large cup of black coffee. On a less good day, it’s just the latter… which I enjoy while going through my first (of many) Instagram scroll of the day.

What’s going on in the background when you are getting ready?

My dog Wally is never too far and the Today Show is on. I get ready super quickly: I get dressed in less than 5 minutes and my makeup routine consists of like 4 things. What takes me the longest is my extensive 12-step skincare routine.

You never leave home without…

My iPhone and a Glossier pink pouch that contains all of the things that could rescue any emergency: Wet Ones, lip balm, bandaids, tampons, earbuds, a pen, a pocket mirror, and the most versatile makeup item that ever existed—lipstick.
